Long compilation time with PostSharp4EntLib

Dec 31, 2007 at 11:31 AM
Hi all,
I started to use the PostSharp4EntLib and noticed that the compilation time is very long (something like 5 times the regular project compilation time). I get frequentrly the error PostSharp: The process "ILASM" did not terminate in due time and was killed. "

Is there any recommendations how to use it.

Timeout errors in ILASM is abnormal, because even large assemblies like mscorlib.dll or System.dll are "roundtrip postsharped" in dozens of seconds, and ILASM is pretty fast (the timeout is set to 60 seconds, which is "should be enough for everybody" -- and who would like to wait more).

If you are able to make a repro case, you are welcome to post it with an issue report to the PostSharp bug tracker.

BTW, please use the site www.postsharp.org for enquiries related to PostSharp, and not specifically to PostSharp4EntLib.
